The children's author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.
Acclaimed writer for children and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
An official for the company stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.
The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."
A Prolific Literary Career
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.
Some of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.
To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
