Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Golden Joystick Awards
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and with a remarkable show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the most decorated winner. The standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the coveted Game of the Year award, along with honors for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Adding to the developer's triumph, its talented performers also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English received Best Lead Performer for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Actor for his work as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its developers achieved seven awards during the ceremony.
Other major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the gamers, with only four categories—Critics' Pick, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamers’ Choice—decided by critics.
