Barcelona Ready for First Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Bilbao team in domestic competition two and a half years after they moved out so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. The club said recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht on 9 December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
