Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
